The practice offers a full range of general medical services including:

  • Consultations - with the GP of your choice
  • General nurse treatment room services - including blood pressure tests, phlebotomy, dressings and injections
  • Chronic disease management - asthma, COPD, coronary heart disease, diabetes, hypertension, epilepsy

  • Cervical smears
  • Child health surveillance
  • Childhood immunisations
  • Dietetics
  • Maternity services - the midwife team visit the surgery on Tuesday and Wednesday afternoons to provide antenatal care and advice.
  • Palliative care
  • Vaccinations and immunisations - including flu and travel.
  • Women's health

Non-NHS Services

Some services provided are not covered under our contract with the NHS and therefore attract charges. Examples include the following:

  • Medicals for pre-employment, sports and driving requirements (HGV, PSV etc.)
  • Insurance claim forms
  • Passport signing
  • Prescriptions for taking medication abroad
  • Private sick notes
  • Vaccination certificates

The fees charged are based on the British Medical Association (BMA) suggested scales and our reception staff will be happy to advise you about them along with appointment availability.

Fees can be paid either by the patient, the employer or insurance company but in all cases the fee must be paid prior to the examination. Charges for road traffic accidents will usually be paid by the patient and reimbursed by the patient's or driver's insurance company.

Telephone Advice

The most convenient time to consult the doctor by telephone for advice is between 11.30am-12.00pm and 4.00pm-6pm weekdays.

Disabled Access

  • The surgery has a disabled parking space near the front entrance.
  • Wheelchair access is available at the front of the building.
  • Patient services are available on the ground floor.
  • A disabled W.C. is available on the ground floor adjacent to the waiting room

Should you need assistance please ask at reception when a member of staff will be pleased to assist you.

Animals are not permitted on the premises other than those accompanying our patients who are blind, or who have dogs to assist them with hearing impairment.

Translation Service

The practice has access to translation services.

Should patients require an interpreter then this should be organised in advance.

All patients are welcome to be accompanied at their consultations by a friend or relative, and we will arrange for a chaperone to be present during a consultation as required by the clinician and/or the patient.

Violence Policy

The NHS operate a zero tolerance policy with regard to violence and abuse and the practice has the right to remove violent patients from the list with immediate effect in order to safeguard practice staff, patients and other persons. Violence in this context includes actual or threatened physical violence or verbal abuse which leads to fear for a person's safety. In this situation we will notify the patient in writing of their removal from the list and record in the patient's medical records the fact of the removal and the circumstances leading to it.

Non-Smoking Policy

We observe a non-smoking policy within the premises and we follow a non-discriminatory policy with regard to patients and staff. CCTV cameras are in operation both inside and outside the surgery premises
